sad.gif In Logic 9.1.3 the "Evolution" FX cannot be bounced - neither offline nor realtime. No matter if "agitation" is on or off....
"Fusion" is working.

You should report this to grm support email (see elsewhere here for bug reporting email) along with your full system details as I spent a whole evening bouncing Evolution (no agitator) in Logic 9.1.3 on a 10.5.8 Mac Pro intel machine with no issue so there is something unique to your problem (or something unique to it working here?)

Hey ;-)

I just tried both 'realtime' and 'offline' on a MacBook Pro:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro6,1
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 8 GB

running Logic 9.1.3/OSX 10.6.7

Evolution worked fine as audio fx (though as an aside I experienced one audio drop out which it has been intimated is an iLok issue?) Here are my settings, is there something different you are doing? (my 'realtime' 5:00 bounce was the one with drop out, I did not at a glance notice any drop outs with the 40 minute 'offline' test).

Hi!

Yesterday I found time to make further tests - I used the exact same settings, like you did - but without success!!
The bouncing procedure starts - but doesn´t stop anymore - when I force quit the process, the resulting Audio file has processed content - but with totally wrong timing.....

best regards
j.

I just noticed that automation recorded inside Logic on an Evolution Plug-In will not perform as long as the GUI of the Plug-In is not opened. When it's closed the automation will not perform/bounce. Using Logic in 64 Bit-mode in that case. Also the 32Bit-Bridge crahses frequently with GRM Tools. Some more beta-testing could have helped maybe smile.gif

I also noticed that Plug-In Delay Compensation is not working as expected inside Logic. When inserting the GRM plug Evolution on an Audio Track this track then plays much too early, so something is wrong. Workaround is to use the Plugs from the "Midi controlled AU FX" folder and send the audio to those plugs via a sidechain Bus.

Sounds like the reported value from plug-in is incorrect. I will verify next chance I get, especially the GUI/automation behavior (I had a serious audio session binge last night and need a break today ;-)). My previous bounce test for j.mayr did have the plug-in GUI open while bouncing.

j.mayr, have you sent bug report to grm support yet?

So with Evolution the audio drop outs are getting worse inside Logic. When Bus recording or bouncing I get erratic drop outs, after about 5 attempts the audio then records/bounces as expected. In the CPU meter of Evolution I can see a big CPU overload and then the audio drops out shortly. Please fix this asap, it's a workflow killer...

Yes, I do hope this is top priority...as Simon says it is a workflow killer. I managed to deal with it in the initial 'play' phase but I also find myself not able to really use them with confidence on serious projects lest I become frustrated, when I do use them I stick to single instance processing so I can deal with one problem at a time.

I have seen the CPU overloads accompanied by drop out but also not (mostly not) so not sure their relationship. Here it remains to seem as if it is some sort of periodic cycle (around 16 mins?), unlike Simon's 'swarm' and extended attempts though my guess is he is using several GRM's at once in the project and the effect is accumulating, each one adding to problem with it's own cycle/period?

Here's hoping with you Simon we see this addressed real soon ;-) Speaking for myself, I would be happy to help beta test if there is anything ready?

I thought that GRM people would be monitoring this Forum and reply to the Bugs we post here, after all we're all doing a public Beta test as it seems )

Thanks Emmanuel for checking in, I also hope the audio drop-out is up there on your list, have you identified problem yet?

I just tried bouncing a track with 1 instance of Evolution and it wouldn't play at all during the bounce, neither on- or offline, no matter what I tried so I had to Bus record the track back into Logic. huh.gif
