Dear Friends,
I am today soliciting your attention as we are actually working with our friends at Sonnox to bring what we believe might be, the most exiting promotion ever proposed at DontCrack.com As you all know, Sonnox Oxford Plugins are considered to be among the highest quality audio plugins ever made for professional studios, producers, musicians, etc. We are now negotiating with Sonnox to make these plugins available to all, via an attractive Group Buy promotion and we would greatly appreciate your feedback to evaluate what would be an "attractive price" and how many products we might sell at that price, and also what would be the best period to run the promotion (Before or after the holiday season), etc. We're almost ready to start, but as always we at DontCrack like to rely on customer feedback before launching new products or hot promotions. We analyze and inform manufacturers about users requests making sure our product offers are bull's-eye in the target... We sort of act as an interface between users and manufacturers in order to aim at customers demand... The Sonnox promotion will be held as a "group buy" offer that will run for a very limited time period (about 10 days). The goal is to reach 50% discount, if enough people sign up, on any of the 9 bundles shown bellow (3 bundles for each format). On this first draft, we'd need to sell over 300 pieces (any of the following bundles) to reach the 50% discount that has never been proposed by Sonnox or anyone else... Some prices have been rounded down to make it even more attractive ;-) The questions are : 1- Are these the right bundles to promote? 2- What would be the best time period to run this group buy offer (before or after holiday season) 3- If the 50% goal was reached, would you jump on that incredible deal? 4- Any other comments are welcome ![]() Please let me know if you have any questions All the best - Peter -------------------- Eric Nolot

Would not surprise me if Sonnox changed their mind.
They are the only company left, who have such a strict re-selling / upgrading policy. Even Waves were changed before an year. Honestly I think they are just stuck with coupons logistics. How to make it non transferable and not to have clones. Everybody who buys Sonnox should know that there will be very expensive upgrade paths in the future. Examples: People who owned Sony Restoration Bundle now will pay: 1. The full retail price of the Sonnox Restore is £1,195 (GBP) and the discounted price when accompanied by the surrender of a Sony Restoration Tools licence is £895 (GBP) This exchange offer is available until February 28th 2010 Well it's only 25% discount. 2. Your Massive Pack 8 contains a licence for the full release version of the Sonnox Oxford Inflator for ProTools TDM systems, compatible with ProTools versions 7.X and 8.X. lease note that the Massive Pack 8 Sonnox Oxford Inflator for TDM licence is not transferable. If you wish to add further licences to use the Oxford Inflator with ProTools versions 6.X, to add Native compatibility for Pro Tools LE, VST and Audio Units, and make the licence transferable, an upgrade is required. The upgrade fee is 80 GBP. 3. Owners of Digidesign Massive Pack 6 - Oxford Dynamics may add further licences to add Native compatibility (for RTAS, VST and AU) and to use the Oxford Dynamics with an older version of Pro Tools - version 6.x The cost of the Massive Pack 6 Oxford Dynamics upgrade is GBP 100.00 4. You may not attempt to sell your license unless you have written permission from Sonnox. Sonnox, in its absolute discretion, might allow or disallow transfer. Sonnox will not consider permission for transfer unless the original licence in question was either : i) bought by the current owner at full individual list price; ii) bought together with other plug-ins at a discounted price (a bundle) and is being transferred along with all other plug-ins in that bundle. Free of charge promotional items are not allowable for transfer under any circumstances. For plug-ins bundled together as part of a special DAW promotion, please check with the promotion 'Terms and Conditions' for advice or contact support@sonnoxplugins.com for clarification. The transfer will only be sanctioned if the licence is in an ilok.com account. If the licence is only offered for sale in an iLok the transfer is not allowable under any circumstance. To apply for permission to transfer your licence please contact support@sonnoxplugins.com and quote your iLok account name and the product(s) you wish to transfer. Once Sonnox has granted permission, and you have found a buyer, you'll need to set-up the licence transfer : Log on to your iLok.com account and follow the Licence Transfer process. iLok.com charge a licence transfer fee of USD 25.00 per licence, which you pay using a credit/debit card. From 1st June 2009, Sonnox charges a fixed licence re-registration fee of GBP 25.00 per licence. The maximum re-registration fee we will charge in a single transfer transaction is GBP 100.00. So, if you have 4 or more licences to transfer, the re-registration fee will be 'capped' at GBP 100.00. So I will not cry out loud if if this deal will fail. A 50% discount is cute for such quality plugins....But it's not something so called a bargain in today's pro audio software realm. I hope that potential buyers should know all these facts. |
