Running PT HD 10.3.1 on OSX 10.7.4
After booting up PT I get the spinning pizza of death if Shuffling is in the Plug-Ins folder. I spent ages eliminating and narrowing the problem. PT launches but when one expects to see the quick start menu, it fails to appear and the spinning starts, then it's time to force-quit and reboot. Removing that one plug from the folder solves the problem. Plugin version 3.3

Hi,

It seems that the plugins preferences are corrupted.
Delete the DAE Prefs folder in $(HOME)/Library/Preferences/
and launch ProTools. The plugins folder will be scanned, and new preferences will be created.

Best Regards

Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel

Thanks for your quick response!
Unfortunately I already tried that, several times, to no avail. I also had the same problem with PT 10.2; and I also did a complete clean uninstall of PT and reinstall. Still the same problem.

Regards

George

Hi George,

Just a simple thought,

Have you tried trashing all PT library preferences ?

Kind Regards - Peter

Hi Peter

Yes I have trashed all known PT prefs!
It's only Shuffling that causes the problem, all the other GRM plugs are fine.

Cheers

Hi George,

We can't reproduce the bug here as we haven't installed Mountain Lion here yet. We will do that and see what happens on our side.

Will also talk to Emmanuel at inaGRM to see if he has reproduced the crash on his side.

We'll keep you posted ASAP.

Thanks - Peter

Hi again,

I just talked to Emanuel at inaGRM and he also is not able to reproduce the bug with PT running on 10.7.4 OS. This is strange as we haven't had such report from other users at this time.

We will keep on investigating and let you know if we figure something out. Perhaps will the new version magically fix that issue but that will be sometime before the end of the year with AAX versions.

Kind Regards - Peter

Hi Peter

I just installed the updated bundle released yesterday yet I am still suffering the same problem (now on PT 10.3.4). After several hours of troubleshooting(!!!) I find that if Shuffling is in the RTAS or AAX folder PT hangs after the splash screen just at the point where the Quick Start window should appear. The problem also occurs if Grinder is in the AAX folder. This really is unacceptable! I have never been able to use Shuffling since purchase.

Regards

George

Hi George,

Sorry to hear the new version didn't fix the issues you encounter. I will ask Emmanuel at ina/GRM to look into that ASAP. We will also investigate on our side.

Thanks - Peter

Hello gonzolagonda,

I am sending a note to GRM right now about this to find out for you.

I'll post as soon as I have some news.

Kind Regards,

Hello gonzolagonda,

I have heard back from GRM.

They are having a hard time trying to reproduce the bug.

Is it possible to try putting all the plug-ins except those delivered with ProTools and the GRM into a "Plug-ins unused" folder?

The reason being is we want to narrow the possibilities down.

GRM suspects some kind of incompatibility with the other plug-ins in your system.

Could you please try this and see if the shuffling works?

Kind Regards

Peter
