Hi syurin,

I understand your concerns. Here's the road map that I have at hand:

•Magnetics Bundle: This is where our focus is at the moment. We've completely overhauled these three plugins, much like the updates we did with the Pulse-Tec and All-Tec EQs. They're sounding better than ever and fully modernized. If all goes well with our final checks, we're looking to announce these on April 15.

• British Bundle: This one's coming up next. It was a bit easier to tackle since we didn't have to do a major overhaul—just some nifty upscaling of the GUIs to keep that cool vintage vibe, plus quite a bit of manual tweaking to smooth out the upscale artifacts. It's trickier than it sounds, but we're aiming to get this bundle out before the end of April.

• Plug & Mix V.I.P. Bundle: There's a lot of anticipation for this one, and rightfully so. It's been a beast with 50 plugins to update, a process that's eaten up over two years of our time. But, we're nearly there and can't wait to get this into your hands by May or early June at the latest.

• Blue Tubes Bundle: We're not stopping there. The flagship Blue Tubes Bundle is already in the works with major improvements on the way. July is our target for this release, fingers crossed.

• In Between Surprises: And just because we can, we might sneak in a few surprises here and there, like the Liquid Bundle, which is all set and just waiting on a fresh coat of paint, graphics-wise.

• Magma: Looking further down the line, Magma is a hefty project with 65 plugins to port and a complex layout that we're aiming to make even better. It's a big job, but we're on it.

I really hope this sheds some light on where we're at. We haven't been the best at sharing our roadmap, and for that, I apologize. It's been a wild ride with plenty of hurdles along the way to creating the perfect setup for reviving these amazing plugins. Offering these updates for free to our existing users is just our way of saying thank you for sticking with us through this journey.

Again, thank you so much for your message and for hanging in there with us. Your support truly keeps us going.

To President Eric,

Thank you for sharing the development roadmap with us.
I'm thrilled to hear that the Magnetics Bundle and British Bundle will be updated soon.
Knowing that other products will also be updated in the not-too-distant future brings me relief.
I know I'm not the only one who loves NomadFactory plugins.

Wishing your company continued success and smooth development.

Much gratitude and respect to the engineers who are diligently updating such a Huge catalog.
And President Eric, thank you for saving the NomadFactory that I love.

Best regards,

Are you not conducting open beta tests recently?
BusDriver remains just a thread with no content, and unreleased products that haven't been tested are being released first.
Users become anxious when they don't know the progress.
Could you at least provide updates on the progress of porting to the new platform?

Do you have any new information regarding the porting of P&M products to the new platform?
With the release of M3 processors for Mac, new purchasers cannot use the current plugins for native operation.
Please let me know if there is any officially shareable information.

Hi.

We are pleased to inform you that we have nearly completed the porting process for Magnetics bundle . It will be available within the coming weeks.

We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this process.

Should you have any further questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

What is the progress of the magma porting work?
I have recommended magma to several friends, and I myself find it very convenient and useful.
However, the design of magma is the oldest among Nomad Factory's plugins, and bugs remain unresolved.
Do you have a schedule for the priority and completion date of the magma porting work?
I'm eager for an early port.
Gratitude and respect to the engineers involved in the massive catalog porting work.

I am very excited about the latest news.
What is the long-term plugin update schedule and priority for NomadFactory going forward?
I am also looking forward to updates for BlueTubeBundle, BusDriver, DrumTools, and others.

I noticed that Magma VSR is no longer available on the official Nomad Factory website and Don'tkrac[k].
I am a big fan of Magma VSR.
Will Magma be discontinued?
I have recommended Magma to many friends.
I believe Magma is an excellent plugin in terms of its concept and performance.
I sincerely hope that it can be upgraded to support new platforms and improve its GUI.
I would appreciate your consideration.

I contacted support directly and received the following reply.

----

We put MAGMA offline temporarily for the current Nomad promo.

MAGMA is on our todo list to be upgraded ASAP. It’s a big one as it contains 65 plug-ins that all need to be upgraded with our latest framework. We are doing our very best to upgrade all Nomad products in a timely matter. It’s a huge job, but we’re on it...

----

Development of MagmaVSR is continuing and will be updated eventually.
We do not know the priority of development, but we hope it will be updated in the not-too-distant future.
Fortunately, it works fine in my environment, but Magma VSR is currently the oldest version of the NomadFactory plug-ins and has stopped being updated.
Therefore, there may be many problems in the current environment.
I believe that a public beta will be released before the update, so if you have a bug that concerns you, you can report it on the forum when the public beta is released.

As a user, I am happy to be able to contribute to a good future product.

I believed the CEO's statement.
But it was not executed.
I understand to some extent that after the announcement on the Nomad Factory web site, the work was delayed due to COVID-19.
But the CEO's statement the other day was made under the current circumstances.
And with no notification of the delay, users are left in the dark.
For NomadFactory's bright future, I think it is necessary to care about the users and publicize the project with blistering publicity.

Eric, I am not angry but sad.

I understand that a huge port to a new platform is difficult.
But I think the users would be relieved if you could devote some more resources to communicate with them.

I am not a user representative, but I know there are several users around me who feel the same way.

I hope this message gets through.

I salute all the engineers who are working on this very difficult port and thank you, Eric, for saving NomadFactory.
And Eric, thank you for saving NomadFactory.

Sadly, the BBE Plug-ins have not been updated yet.
Plug&Mix has not been updated either.
My anxiety has grown.

Hi syurin and teksonik,

First of all, thank you very much for your comments in this forum. I do see that myself and the team have not been very active on this forum board and I apologize about that.

To keep you folks in the loop, it is much more than Nomad Factory products that needed to be upgraded to our new framework. As you may know, we also acquired the responsibility to keep the BBE Sound plug-ins up to date (as these have been developed by Nomad Factory for BBE Sound) and there is also Plug & Mix that was an other big project that I started years back, again using the Nomad Factory framework to build our own plug-ins...

The problem when porting software from an old framework, to a new one, is "Backward Compatibility". It is the "fine tuning" that literally takes weeks or even months to do for each plug-in, so that it sounds and feels exactly the same from old sessions recorded years ago. Many companies don't really bother with that but we do...

At this time we ported all BBE Sound software to our new framework and a major upgrade should be announced before the end of the month. That means that the Sonic Sweet Bundle and the BBE StompBoard will now be fully compatible with all computer OS and plug-in formats as 80s Spaces actually is.

There's also the Plug & Mix V.I.P. Bundle that counts 50 plug-ins that is now almost ready to launch, all nice and clean. That should be in early October.

So, as I said, other Nomad Factory products are on the way to be ported but it will unfortunately take some time. I hope all of them will be ready before the end the end of 2023... While we gained great experience porting lots of plug-ins, we know that is not something that can be done correctly with a finger snap.

As for the GUIs, I feel 80s Spaces is big enough on a 4k 27 inch iMac Pro but resizing is on the todo list for up coming updates... 😰

Thank you all for your patience and your understanding.

Eric

Thank you Eric for your very sincere reply.

As teksonik wrote, I too look forward to updates.

I own all Nomad Factory products and BBE Sound products, so I am very happy that "backward compatibility" will be maintained and that no products will be "discontinued".

I am very thankful that despite the massive update, there is no additional cost.
(Personally, I would like to see you charge an upgrade fee if necessary to maintain the software in the future, as long as it is not too expensive.)

I am also interested in the Plug & Mix Pro Bundle and would like to purchase it.

I would also like to see future updates or new product releases include an option to explicitly select low-pass filtered oversampling, such as x2, x4, etc., for aliasing noise reduction.

It was great to hear back from you.

It's great news that the Nomad Factory plugins are getting some love from a new team!

I had the honor and privilege of doing some beta testing for Bernie before he passed away and his generosity has provided me with licenses for almost all the NF catalog except the 80's Spaces which I may pick up during the sale.

So I'm very exited that great plugins like Cosmos, Drum Tools, MFX-Magma etc may be in active development again.

However, one of the things I'm reading on various forums and these are my feelings as well, one of the most useful updates would be for resizable GUIs or at least more GUI size options.

When most of the NF factory plugins were first released, common monitor resolutions were much smaller such as 1366 x 768. Today 1920x1080 is one of the most common resolutions and 4K is becoming more and more popular.

This causes what I call "GUI Shrink" where plugins that were the perfect size on older resolutions are now too small for today's higher res.

I noticed this right away with the 80's Spaces version 2 update. While it is usable at 1920x1080 it is a bit too small to be comfortable. I don't have a 4K monitor but imagine it would be even smaller on one of them.

So I'd like to encourage the new team to look into resizable GUIs for any of the NF plugins that get updated. smile.gif

Your experience as a beta tester must have been invaluable and wonderful.

I strongly agree with the implementation of a resizable GUI.

I was using a WQHD resolution display for a while and found the plug-in GUI so small that it was difficult to operate, so I purchased a new display with FHD resolution.

In recent years, I feel that more and more third-party plug-ins are implementing resizable GUIs.

I assume that the NF development team is currently busy porting Burny's legacy to new platforms.

I would like to make my requests known to NF when a new version of their product catalog becomes available.

I wonder if we can hope for VST3, because last week Cubase announced that they will no longer support VST2?

I was very anxious too.

However, Nomad Factory released 80'sSpace v2 on August 30.

80'sSpace v2 has many improvements including support for the latest OS, VST3, and AppleSillicon.

Plugivery / Nomad Factory CEO Eric Norot announced in the Don't Crac[k] newsletter that they will be updating all of their products over the next few months.

I have included the quote in a separate thread on this forum.
https://forums.plugivery.com/index.php?showtopic=144131

VST3 compatibility for Nomad Factory's major plug-ins may be a strong possibility before Steinberg scraps VST2.

Nomad Factory released 80'sSpace v2 on August 30.

https://go.nomadfactory.com/products/p3054-80s-Spaces/

I learned about it through the DontCrac[k] newsletter.

The new version supports the latest OS at the moment, AAX native, VST2, VST3, Intel x64 CPU and Apple Silicon.

The IRs and presets have been greatly increased and the UI has been revamped.

Sound quality was perfect, CPU load was light, and operation was nimble.

Mr. Eric Norot, CEO of Plugivery / Nomad Factory, sent out the following message in the DontCrac[k] newsletter.
"Nomad Factory users have been eagerly waiting for this. this upgrade will affect the entire Nomad Factory product line over the course of the next few months."
"It has been very challenging for myself and the development team at Plugivery to take over the Nomad factory brand, a few years back, when owner and CEO Bernie Torelli sadly past away. Our developers have been hard at work to port, literally, millions of lines of codes to our modern framework assuring backward compatibility, and FREE upgrades for the next decades. We hope to have all Nomad Factory products ported to our new framework as soon as we possibly can."

I love NomadFactory plug-ins, so I hope that Mr. Eric Norot's words will come true and we will have a "brighter future" this time around.

What do you guys expect from NomadFactory in the future?

If we send our requests to Plugivery / Nomad Factory, maybe something will change.

Finally, Mr. Eric Norot and Plugivery's user support personnel, please also check the user forum and reply.

Could we have an update re: the transition to Apple Silicon/M1/ARM architecture? It's been a few months. I'd really like to bring my ISP III Bundle with me when I configure my upgraded studio CPU in a few months. I've made a commitment to run only native plug-ins in Logic. I use a fair amount of PSP and Waves plug-ins (most of which have made the transition), but every now and then an old-school NF title is just what the doctor ordered for a mix.

Any word at all will be helpful. Time frame for completing the project would obviously help the most, but I know such things are hard to predict.

I asked Facebook's Nomadfactory account and they said they are planning an update later this year.
He also said that Nomadfactory would not respond to this forum.
I was told that if I wanted an answer, I would have to issue a ticket at Help centers.
I issued a ticket at Help centers for another trouble and asked for an update, but the problem was not resolved and the person in charge said there was an update soon.
Nomad Factory speaks and acts differently depending on the person in charge.
I can't trust the words of the person in charge of Facebook's Nomad Factory account.
As far as their actions and behaviors are concerned, development seems to be quite tough.
You shouldn't expect updates in the near future.
Ashley Smith is also abandoning here.
I can't expect a Nomad Factory without Bernie.

It will be easier to support the details of your machine (CPU type and memory capacity), OS version, DAW type and version.
If your M1 Mac, is your DAW running via Rosetta?

For Windows:
1) Right-click the downloaded zip file to display the ® properties.
2) When the zip file properties window is displayed, select the "Allow" check box in the "Security" item at the bottom.
3) Click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the window and then click the "OK" button to close the window.
4) Unzip the zip file
5) Right-click "Authorizer.exe" in the unzipped "Nomad Factory ISP3 VST" folder.
6) Select "Run as administrator (A)".
7) If you follow the guidance, you should be able to activate normally.

I think the important thing is to check the security items of the zip file and execute the authorizer with administrator privileges.

For Apple Silicon Mac:
The authorizer is for intel CPU, so use Rosetta to boot it.
The first time you launch an application for an intel CPU, Rossta will be installed automatically, but you will need to be connected to the web.
If you start Authorizer.app and follow the guidance, you should be able to activate it normally.
If you don't see the plug-in in your DAW, it's possible that your DAW is running in Apple Silicon Native.
Click "^ (control)" on your DAW and select "Get Info".
I think there is a "Open with Rosetta" checkbox above "Lock" at the bottom of the "General Information:" section.
If you check the box and start the DAW, you can use the plug-in.

I hope everyone's Nomad Factory Plugin works well.

You may be busy porting plug-ins into a new environment, but I'd be happy if you could take care of the forums for users.ory

I love NomadFactry plugins.

I hope for the bright future of NomadFactory and users...
