I have an issue with Chainer (Authorized Full Version) on two different machines. One is Win 7 SP1, the other Win 8.1. Both have Intel I7 and 16GB RAM. The PM Scanner aborts at least three times while scanning plugins and gives a pop-up error message on plug-ins like Tone2 Rayblaster, Tone2 Nemesis, D16 Lush-101 and D-16 Signmund that there was an error and the plugin was disabled. One the Win7 machine, it scanned and processed all of Native Instruments Komplete 10, except Kontakt 5. Any ideas what it going on?

Hello bbrylow,

We have had reports of some VST not scanning properly.

At this point in time it is hard to say if the problem is on our side or something about the way those VST are written that the Chainer is not seeing correctly.

We will have a new version of the Chainer that will make the authorisation process easier to complete, and it should allow more VSTs to be seen.

Version 1.1 should be available in the next couple of days.

Best Regards,

Nick

Thanks Nick! They scan okay in 5 DAWs okay and based on what I know of how they are written (only 2 of Tone2s 8 plugins won't scan), I don't think it is the plugin - same with Native Instruments Kontakt. I will be happy to install 1.1 and wipe my config and rescan to test for you. Will there be an email to owners that the new version is out?

Nick,

Version 1.1 seems to scan more plugins in Reaper but crashes (PM-Scanner) at least 3-4 times when I ran a complete new scan. It picks up where it left off when I restart it, but it looks like it skips that plugin then. It also still crashes on the two Tone2 plugins - Rayblaster and Saurus.

Hello Brian,

I have passed on your information to the developers about the Tone2 plug-ins crashing the Chainer when used with Reaper.

Should have some news soon.

Best Regards,

Nick

Nick,

The last report I gave you was from Windows 7. I re-installed and ran the scan on my Windows 8.1 machine with Reaper and Chainer has issues with plugins that it doesn't on Windows 7 (HG Fortune Tiger Pro, IK Multimedia TCS Suite, Kontakt 5, Izotope RX3) It only found 376 plugins out of over 600.

Hello Brian,

Thanks for getting back to me, so there are differences between the results on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1?

Are there the same number of VSTs on both machines?

Best Regards,

Nick

Nick,

There are a few less on my 8.1 machine. It still have issues with the Tone2 plugins, but also seems like many more, in addition to not recognizing a fair amount of them. Much better success rate on Windows 7. Both are Reaper 4.77.

Hello bbrylow,

If you have the time, one thing that would be useful is a list of the VSTs that are not showing up.

If you could send it as a 'support ticket' to me it will easier for me to pass the info to the developers.

Hi Nick,

As an Owner of the Plug&Mix Bundle, please can you tell me how I authorize the Chainer? The Plugin is running here in the Demo mode.

Thank you,

Cheers

I've tried to authorize the Chainer with my VIP Bundle Authorization Code, but the Chainer shows me v.1.1 Demo Mode after I load the Plugin again. What happens?

Thank you,

Cheers

Hello Morpheus,

Thanks for your interest in DontCrack and Plug&Mix.

Yes the Chainer is FREE, if you are a registered Plug and Mix owner, you can use it to chain any of your Plug and Mix effects to chain them together to make great new presets.

The activation code is the one you used for your first Plug and Mix purchase.

The fact it says "Version 1.0.0 AAX (VST Demo)" is normal. It means you can use the P+M plug-ins but the VST plug-ins will be available in 'demo' mode.

That means they will fade out after 45 seconds of use.

BUT you can build chains and they can be saved as presets that you will be able to use if and when you get the FULL Chainer.

If you have great VST plug-ins and VSTi instruments from ANY manufacturer that you want to use you can get the FULL version which will allow you to chain them as well as the Plug and Mix plug-ins.

Until the 30th of April it is at a special introductory price of $49 instead of the $129 MSRP.

http://store.dontcrack.com/product_info.ph...roducts_id=1888

Then you will get a special new authorisation code for the FULL Chainer.

Best Regards,

Nick
