fellas, they are - for some reason - called simply "shift" and "warp" as audio units.... but named correctly as VST

but I agree in spirit that the install is kind of flakey because of this, the previous installer was also flakey for existing GRM users as it didn't overwrite some of the older files

we were presented with a price that amounted to 42% of the msrp $1,150 ... which is $489.
but now we discover the msrp is really $800.
not the deal we were advertised.

42% of $800 = $336

$489 - $336 = $153

we are owed $153 in change.

Yeah, this is pretty interesting.

Says $1150 msrp right here:

Yep, more than a little off-putting. Means I won't be buying much else (anything) from Don't Crack again.

they've changed/erased any mention of the list price from that link.
That's why screen-capture was invented I guess.

PETER has been posting on KVR today promoting the latest sale, but doesn't have a minute to deal with this issue.

what a class act.

anyone know who you report these kind of fraudulent promotions to ? in canada ?

If you only wanted to upgrade the Classic/Spectral Transform suites you should have waited for those individual upgrades instead of buying the new complete package, which includes a third suite - 'evolution'.

they advertised a bundle for what appeared to be 42% of the list price. What we've now discovered is that we've paid 61% of the list price.

going by the discounted prices offered at their store, to be early-adopters and for offering a quick cash injection we're only saving $200 on the bundle price when it appeared we would be saving more like $500.

I'd like to see someone explain this.
This is very shady pricing shenanigans.

am I imagining things ?
the current price for the GRM v3 collection is now:
list price: $800
dontcrack.com: $689

From the introductory offer I was under the distinct impression it would be a list price of $1,150, what with that figure being in the headline of the offer.. 'n stuff.

were we misled into buying too early (a beta?) ?
I know for the sake of saving $200 I would not have gone to the extraordinary lengths I went to in order to raise the cash on time, nor would I have done it for the 'privilege' of being an early-adopter....

so someone tell me I'm imagining things please blink.gif

Send in a report (see bug reporting thread), it is happening to others (myself in both standalone and Logic) but more info from more users could help both identify and prioritize fix ;-)

thanks for the tip! wink.gif

I've been trying to purchase the introductory bundle, but the store won't let me checkout. I'm getting the 3 asterisks saying invalid quantity. Its still Sunday April 17th here in California, so I dunno what the problem is. I suppose if the deadline was timezone specific, that should probably have been mentioned.

email them, they'll probably let you purchase (they like to make money, you know)
In fact, nowadays, it's more common than not to extend sales for an extra couple of weeks. Not complaining about that mind you, I think it's good that devs/stores extend sales.

good luck!

as you can see, the resolution of the agitator knobs decreases exponentially - pretty drastically, you can see how little is left for the final 50%. You can of course use fine resolution by holding the apple/command key (osx) , however, my personal preference would be a uniform resolution so that I can get into my preferred 'ballpark' before initiating finer resolution with the command key.

secondly, it's great that each parameter you apply the agitator to reacts differently than the others - but with the same percentage/time settings. Kudos. However, I'd love to see , multiple agitators. For the moment there is one, and it is represented by the colour pink. It would be great if there were, say, 4 colours to choose from. and each colour could have different percentage/time settings. Do you get what I mean ? .... certainly in terms of GUI I think it would be easy to implement, but in terms of code I have no idea. I for one would love some additional agitators... that operate exactly like the current implementation..

apologies if I'm not explaining myself well,
I would appreciate your thoughts!

with respect dude, how did you manage to spend $489 on something (valued at at $1,150) without noticing that it's protected by iLok ? it says it in bold font on the product's description page... you even have to scroll past that information to get to the demo links.

Even though you missed it somehow, and it's a surprise to you, considering the savings being offered to you does it really seem worthy of complaint that you've got to buy a usb hub and an iLok ?

Don't get me wrong though, I have to micromanage every cent these days too...but come on, you have to accept accountability for your own mistakes and realise when you're getting a good deal.

Am I missing something, or is there no english version of the site for non-french speaking customers ?

Seems a bit obnoxious considering the price tag. Believe me, I don't visit France expecting the natives to speak a word of english - but this isn't the same thing. Finding the downloads on their site is a pain in the arse. In fact, that's all I give a damn about - finding the installers. So keep the site totally french, but for the love of god make it easier to find the updates/downloads etc. Like, link to them from the main page.

Apologies if I'm mistaken

There are three mono version AUs .... bandpass doppler equalize .... neither of which work in Ableton live 7, when you try loading them you get an error dialog saying the plugin instance can't be created because they are not compatible.

Will this be rectified ? as with my other thread, it seems Live 7 compatibility might not be a priority. If that's the case I would say it's a mistake. Live7 is still the version to run if stability is a priority. Certainly for live performance...

Also, why only those plugs have dedicated mono versions ?

Can we expect dedicated Stereo VST versions of the three Evolution plugs, as the rest of the suite has ?

In ableton live 7 the evolution VSTs are operating in mono only.
Perhaps this doesn't happen in Live 8 ? I don't know as I don't own it - 8 has been such a unstable release even after all this time. Live 7 is still a very relevant build of Ableton Live, certainly where stability is a priority, and I think it should be catered for...

the AUs are operating in stereo
