Please see the edit menu for common region functions such as cut, copy, paste, insert, delete, split region.

You may trim/resize regions by grabbing the left or right portion. How do you envision "crop" to work as split and delete selected region would be the same process?

Please detail your thoughts on save selection and save selection as and how you would utilize such feature?

Insert silence, yes this is a good one and we'll push developers to add to teh list.

Thanks!

Hi Ashley,

I'm sorry... what I meant to say is selection.

When I select a part of my file and go to edit (or right click) to delete, copy, cut or paste, all those options are greyed out.

Often I will select a portion of a file to save it as a loop or a sample to use elsewhere and save selection as has worked well in the past.

I understand this editor wants a region before it will delete, cut, paste etc... but for some simple tasks, such as deleting extra silence at the beginning and ending of a track, a simple select and delete works well and is fast... also when I make a region and delete it, a gap of nothing is created. I then have to deal with how to mend those two or more parts together... without a grid. It's a lot of work for a simple task.

I know that working with regions is a useful way to work, but I think most people do that sort of editing in their DAW's and leave the smaller more simple finishing tweaks for the 2 track editors.

Thanks for your time.

Niko

Thanks for the info Niko, yes a defined "region" or clip is required for edit commands. Have you tried using Ripple mode so whe you create a region then delete, the right-most clip will snap back to the left boundary?

A bars and beats grid/timeline has been requested (prior to release). It will surely be seen in an update at some point.

All the best,

I really should have thoroughly read the manual before posting... yes the snap and ripple functions solve both the issues I described.

The more I think about it, the more I see that working with regions is a very powerful way to edit audio in a 2 trk editor. I mean I do it in Ableton every day, why not in TS-2 as well.

TS-2 goes beyond the editor I am used to using, so I'm learning to adjust and also seeing the positives of the simplicity and power of this software.

Thanks for your time and patience.

Niko
