I just bought a vst plugin from plug and mix and downloaded it and activated it but it's not showing up under the inserts tab where all the vst effects are. It says after you download it,
it should show up in your daw in demo mode and you can activate it from there but it never showed up at all so I activated it from the folder in my documents and it says it activated it.
There's a plug and mix folder in my documents with all the plugin's that they offer and I chose to only download the one I bought which was the Screamer.
When I look at the factory presets in the screamer folder it says the file types are DCPRG if that matters but the instructions said that it should have shown up in demo mode after I downloaded the software but it never did. Any ideas?

On Windows, a VST plug-in often has separate installation locations. The stand-alone version usually gets installed into a subfolder of "Program Files". This subfolder is normally named after the plug-in developer. The second location is for the VST plug-in DLL.

As you are running Cubase you might need to move the P&M VST file to :

Windows
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins\

32-bit plug-ins on Windows 64-bit
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\Vstplugins\

As users use different DAWs our installers creates a "general" VST folder as requested by users that run multiple DAWs.

That is something all Windows users are aware of and they therefore handle their VST folders at their convenience...

Here's a tutorial that explains some of that but there are many more that you will find if you Google around...

Hope this helps.

Best Regards - Peter
