Thank you for your feedback. It is difficult to know the cause of the problem but if you can provide the full crash report it would help to correct it.
The problem may be due to an audio configuration not supported by the software or one of its plug-ins, a corrupted sound file, an invalid document, etc. And reinstalling the software will certainly not correct the problem. However, you can delete the preferences to restore the default audio configuration and avoid loading the last document. To do this, go to the `~/Library/Application Support/IrcamLab/` folder (in the Finder, press cmd+shift+g then copy the path) and delete the files
- TS.audio.settings for audio configuration
- TS.pluginList.settings for the list of scanned plugins
- TS.settings for last loaded documents

Let me know if this solves your problem. And if you can send the crash log, maybe that will help find the exact source and fix it.

Plugivery published a new release 2.2.4 on the project page two days ago, can you try it? Periodic reading of sound file attributes is also normal, so don't worry about it.

Hello Heinz,

The creation of temporary files is normal when editing a TS document. However, this should not continue if you stop editing the document. Are you using the latest version 2.2.4? Does the application crash or hang? It's not very clear, but it would help us to understand the problem. For the moment, we haven't managed to reproduce this problem, but we're continuing to test.

It is very likely that this must be related to another problem. In the sent version, several modules have been updated, including the audio driver management system. All the changes have not been properly tested yet, so it should be used with caution. I'll try to reproduce it and if you have any other information don't hesitate to send it. Thanks again!

I think I've managed to reproduce the problem and fix it! Could you test this version and tell me if the problem is solved on your machine? This is a development version, please do not share it. If you don't encounter the problem anymore, the fix will be integrated with the next release but use this develoment version with caution because some aspects may change between now and the release.

Thank you for these additional details! Does the problem occur with other audio files or just this one? Does it seem to be related to the file size?
I just tested your steps with a 15 minute file at 96kHz (312MB) and it works (even though my machine has less RAM). I'll do some more tests to try to find the problem.

Tips: For the crossfade, you just have to fade (in or out) on the region that is moved and not necessarily on both regions wink.gif

Thank you for the report. I just tried to reproduce it on a machine that is quite similar to yours. Can you provide your TS2 document and the steps you did so I could try to reproduce it? You can use File -> Consolidate Document, to create a TS2 document with the audio files.

My machine is rather similar (Dell i7 & NVIDIA GeForce GTX) but I run on Windows 11. The application has been tested on Windows 10 so I doubt that is the issue. Can you try to delete the preference files (TS.settings and TS.audio.settings) that are located in “C:\Users\“username”\AppData\Roaming\IrcamLab\” and then restart the application?

Can you share the TS2 audio settings? The level of the VU-meters corresponds to the output to the audio device so you have to ensure that all the 4 input channels (corresponding to the quadraphonic audio files) are well mapped to an output. There also might be some issues with the audio driver and Rosetta 2 support, we'll investigate (BTW, the audio engine has been updated and is compatible now with M1 so hopefully, TS2 will be compatible with M1 also).
Indeed, 30% is very high, this might also be related to the Rosetta 2 support, but also to the window size or the step size used by the audio engine (even without any transposition/time-stretch the audio engine is active). It would be helpful also if you could consolidate a document and share it with us.

I tried on Windows 11 and it works on my machine. I also did a fresh install and there is no problem. Are you an administrator of the machine? Did you try to reinstall the application? Can you give further information about your machine and the installation so we could try to reproduce the issue?

The problem also occurs with Reaper, Tracktion, etc. so we supposed it was a bug in the plugin. We contacted the support of Sonible/Focusrite and they told us that their developers will fix this bug.
