Hello. I am looking at the Eventide Elevate Mastering Bundle upgrade. $83 PDZ price in the PDZ, but $150 once in the cart with the voucher applied? Maybe I'm missing something - please let me know? Thanks!

Couldn't say honetsly without knowning further detail about the checks the app makes, I'm not familiar with it. Nothing to worry on though, we're clean.

Thanks for the reply. Ok - I may ask the Drive Genius crew about what may be being picked up there - I'm curious ;-)

Hi Kev, no need to delete this plist, it is required by the plug-in and a hidden file. Drive Genius is givig a false positive on scanning.

Thanks!

Ok Ashley - thanks - I'm curious though - any idea why? It is not reporting this kind of error for any other plugin and I have over 300 installed?

Hi. I have a repeated report from Drive Genius 4 that show this error message relating to a corrupt preference file - see linked screenshot.

BusDriver pref file error report

I have no other reports like this for any of the other 300+ plugins on my very clean system.

Could you let me know why this is please, and whether I should go ahead and delete it - and/or reinstall/authorise the plugin?

Thanks.

Kev

Note: Just noticed the typo in the title but I cannot seem to access it to correct it - sorry people ;-)

Hi again everyone, Ali from Plugivery here.

We just wanted to update you that all remaining issues re P&M and the new 5 plug-ins should now be resolved. The developers have fixed validation, crashes with Basspeg on Windows systems…
Also, the version number for the VIP Bundle and the Chainer have been updated.

Important Note: users will need to rescan plug-ins in their DAW and clear any blacklist files on their systems. This means for Logic, deleting the AU Cache file in…

/Users/<your name>/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache

and Pro Tools the InstalledAAXPlugIns file in these paths…

*Mac*: Users/<your name>/Library/Preferences/Avid/Pro Tools

*PC*: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Avid\Pro Tools

Hope this helps, please let us know if you are still having some issues.

Thanks!

Note for Mac AU users:

Go ahead and delete the cache if you wish to have to re-validate ALL your 3rd party plugins. As far as I know you can simply go to the Plugin Manager inside Logic, select all the PnM plugz and then "rescan selection"? This way, it's not necessary to re-validate every single one of your plugz. If you've got 100s of plugz like me, then this might be preferable. The choice is yours of course ;-)

Please correct me if I'm wrong about this. Ta ;-)

Hello Kev,

Nomad Factory is currently working on a new version ISP that will be out very soon.

And part of it is the validation problem with Logic.

Best Regards,

Nick

Hi Nick.

The LM 622 still fails the validation with the latest version of ISP 4

I've been through the very same stuff but it's working here, even when it says install failed, I installed p&m VIP bundle manually and it seems to work even though the message said, installation failed.
Now the list of glitches, bugs and problems I've come across while testing this one is just incredible. As usual with any plug-in from either P&M or Nomad Factory as they share some of the same code and technology, I've been through the same nightmare with a sensibly similar product called Magma. It never worked properly and I took them 8 or 9 updates to make it more or less usable. Still today I get regular glitches, plops, audio drop-outs with it all the time, on top its filters are responding too slowly to automation so they're unusable.

Here's a short list of what's going on in logic 10.1.1 on a mac os 10.9

1) The host automation is ETREMELY slow. E.G. I want to open the logic list on my track to select a parameter, and it gives me rainbow wheel for almost 30 secs EACH TIME I click on it. 2000 of parameters is maybe too much guys. It's a horrible coding mistake. 512 parameter slots as in reaktor or Guitar rig would have been enough.

2) The host automation doesn't show up the NAME of the parameter, you just see numbers in Logic, and each thine I have to open the plug-in window.
3) The displayed info is very slow, in fact it completely slows down my refresh rate on this computer, a Macbook Pro Retina 2013 with an Nvidia 750 chip (and it's running on that one). I mean everything slows down, logic, the plug-in and anything related to them.
4) Realtime Automation seems impossible to do properly as when turning knobs it keeps hanging. Remember when computers were too slow to play a specific game, the refresh rate slows down and makes your game unplayable? so I get scaled automation, which is not only what I want to avoid, but an absolute time-eater.
5) Opening any Plug&mix separately from the chainer afterwards to compare behavior, gives me the same problem, automation glitches, and I even have to restart my computer completely to get it working normally again.

My conclusion is that while I LOVE using the plug&mix effects in my productions, and I'm a huge clarisonix, limiter, echo flex, and talking tone addict, if anything from the same team is glitchy all the time, it doesn't surprise me that media don't talk about it. What a bad advertising for you guys, again and again.

In 2015 it's absolutely unacceptable to have plugins that give so many glitches and issues as yours when they get released. I'm sorry to say that, because every single production I've done in the last 2 years makes heavy use of your stuff and you deserve top rating and credit.

I contacted eric on Facebook, but he didn't seem to be active on there.

Hmmmm.... I didn't know that the code for the PnM plugz had some crossover with Nomad Factory code. This does not surprise me though. I had a total NIGHTMARE with hours and hours of lost studio time trying to "troubleshoot" what was basically flaky code in the NF Integral Pack. I was told I was "the only person with problems". I personally knew of 5 other composers who had the same problems I did and the internet fiorums revealed many more than that. All my posts got mysteriously "removed" for the NF forum - I wonder why?.....

It took years overall and still I can't trust the plugins to behave 100% reliably in my professional projects. I tested Magma a few times with different updates, and that was flaky too - crashes and hangs etc. I will not be buying it, even though I would use it if it was stable.

I do hope that the PnM stuff will recover from the bugs etc - I like some of the plugins a lot and really want to use them in projects. However, I cannot risk down time on deadline studio projects for commissions, so I'm wary.....

I also have Automation sluggishness/accuracy issues - with Degradiator - just discovered today.

I have the PnM collection installed and I'm using it with care and attention to fragility issues. I've not installed Chainer, and won't do so until I see updates that address the problems being reported here.

hello,

really happy about the new plugin CHAINER, but unfortunately there are some serious issues concerning the au version, which make the plugin pretty much unusuable in logic pro x (latest version, 10.1)

- GUI doesn't load in logic pro x (though it does in the mini host "hosting au" - might have to do with the legacy graphics dev kits that aren't supported by apple any longer)
- CHAINER is only selectable as an INSERT EFFECT not as an virtual instrument. therefore the ability to load third party instruments in it is also pretty much useless, because an insert effect doesn't generate sound itself (at least not in logic)

given that it's a brand new v1.0 release, i'm not that upset, but it would be great if those issues could be addressed soon, because as i said... as of now, i cannot use it at all.

Thanks to all the people who posted about Chainer not working with Logic. You've saved me wasting my time installing it and testing it out.

Seems like it could be a great tool once it's ironed out though - I look forward to the de-bugged version. Thanks to P n M for creating it.

Hello

After upgrading from ISP3 to ISP4, 3 plugins in the bundle won't validate in Logic 9.1.8. I'm on Snow Leopard 1.6.3 booted into 64bit mode.

Here are the error messages in Logic's AU validator:

LM 662 fails on my system too.

Also, PEQ 5B causes an immediate crash when removing it from a channel strip to replace it with another.

Check this thread for more info on NF plugin instability:

Hello Kev,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you, we are usually a bit faster, but there were vacations and the VIP Bundle promo has kept us real busy.

About the "mono to stereo" problem in Logic,I will pass it on to our developers.

Just so I know, it is a "mono" bus the Chorus Ensemble is inserted on to?

Then you choose to make the plug-in "mono to stereo"

The Chorus Ensemble is mono or stereo depending on the channel it is inserted into.

If you create a separate stereo bus, does the Chorus come up stereo?

As a ProTools user, I usually send to a stereo bus from two sends (left and right) on the mono channel i want to send from.

But I know other DAWs let you patch in a stereo effect on a "mono" channel, useful for a Chorus.

I will also mention the fact that the Multi-tap is not saving presets to them.

Best Regards,

Nick

Hi Nick.

Thanks for the reply.

It matters not which kind of bus I choose. Just tested it with mono and stereo. So using the "stereo" version of the plugin on a stereo bus, and the "mono to stereo" version on a mono bus.

EDIT!

An update - If I use a stereo source - i.e. a VI with a stereo output, and couple it with CE on a stereo bus using "stereo" plugin mode, the output from CE is in stereo. A mono source with "mono to stereo" CE renders a mono output.

Please update me with progress on a fix for this?

Can another user please check this on their system to verify it's not just my setup that is producing this?

Thanks!

Kev

Hi.

Just bumping this one as there's been no reply as yet - about 2 weeks I think? Are you guys on holiday perhaps? (not sarcastic - just genuinely wondering, as the replies seem to have been pretty regular until recently).

Thanks,

Hi.

I have a problem with the "Chorus Ensemble". It's in mono?

I have it over a bus in Logic - I chose "mono to stereo" as I always would for a plugin of this kind. The output is mono.

Is this a known issue? I have searched this thread and found some clicking issues with this plugin from 2013 but nothing about the mono issue?

Also, the multi tap delay will not save presets? It shows a "disk error" and tells me the preset could not be saved.

Thanks,

Kev

Hi.

I just bought the P and M VIP bundle after using some of the plugz for the first time at a friend's studio.

I just installed them on my system. The Rotator fails the AU scan? I did it on 32 bit first, as I always do. It failed. It then failed on 64 bit too.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks,

Kev

Update - the plugin passes the validation once the bundle is authorised and the plugin is re-scanned and reset in AU Manager.

Sorry guys - I put this report inside a code box, but it just showed all of it as normal text. I have therefore chopped it back to the salient parts:

Just spent about 30 minutes with Magma:

I really like the rack concept - the drag n drop thing is great

Badly needs a bypass button for each rack individually - this is a deal breaker for me

I found a bug - unfortunately I can't recall which unit it was - late night! When the clip light was engaged, the audio was muted

Previous/Next arrow selector buttons for moving through FX without having to re-open the drop down would be very useful

Magma crashed while loading a preset rack - report below. [edit: I tried to use a code box but it did not work?]

Overall, I could get into this system once it had a few important functionality bits sorted, and has settled down bug/crash wise.

I would be interested to see how it copes with running 3rd party plugz - I'm gonna keep an eye on this one - not a purchase for me at this stage though.

I have had problems with the BT suite for years - I have been in touch with support over the years, but they never got fixed. I just don't use them any more - too risky in a project.

The chorus was one of the particularly troublesome plugz.

I posted a thread here about the problems, but it got "mysteriously" deleted by the moderator.... wink.gif

Please DO write to NF and tell them about your crashes - it's the only way we'll ever get stable usable plugins!

Do you have any trouble with any other NF plugins? How about the BT EQs, or AMT Warm, if you have it?

Hi,

I'm having exactly the same problem as you in Pro Tools 8.
I haven’t contacted Nomad Factory yet - I spent pratically all day dealing with
this problem trying to fix it myself with no success.
I'm using the last version of the download available as seen in other post but it doesn't work also.

Please let me know if you found a solution and forgive me for my bad english.

Please do contact Nomad, otherwise they will not realise how many people are having problems with their plugins. In my experience they are in denial about how stable the plugins are. The more people that write to them the better.

2.) I have trouble with it not instantiating in busier mixes with lots of tracks and lots of other plugins running. I have plenty of CPU horsepower available, but at some point, ECHOES will not instantiate. The piece in the link above has 4 or 5 guitar parts, Native Instruments Battery drums and Native Instruments Acoustik Piano. On pieces where I have more guitars, more VST instruments, a dozen audio tracks of a live drummer, several group tracks and several folder tracks to keep thing organized, ECHOES refuses to open. I've read posts on here by others who have the same trouble. I've downloaded the latest version, hoping the problem had been remedied, but it has not.

ECHOES is an absolutely amazing sounding delay... when it chooses to open.

What I will have to do on the more complex mixes I'm working on is take each track I wish to use ECHOES on, pull it up by itself an a blank Cubase project, instantiate ECHOES, then export the output of the FX track with ECHOES on it, thus creating an audio file of just the delay. Then I will need to import that audio file back into the more complex mix as a new audio track, thus getting around not being able to instantiate ECHOES directly in the busier mix. Tedious, time-consuming and I am not looking forward to it.

3.) When it does open, I've gotten great results using automation to adjust the stereo and repeats knobs, as well as the delay time. These controls allow for lots of flexibility and great delay effects, and the ability to automate them opens up the doors for a lot of great musical ideas.

Unfortunately, this sort of behaviour is not unusual (in my painful experience) for Nomad Factory plugins! Once they are used in projects with more plugins from other developers they misbehave and crash. I have had these sorts of problems for years with lots of NF plugins - I have the Integral Studio Pack. I believe the coding is fragile. I have sadly had to stop using them in any professional projects as they are too unreliable/unstable.

Please do write to NF and tell them about your problems. The more people that do so, the more likely they will be to "fine-comb" the code and test their plugins more stringently in order to iron out these bugs that come into play when the plugz are used in conjunction with other devs products/used in more complex projects.

Hi admin.

Why are prices on the 'old' IRCAM plugins not updated in the Don'tCrac[k] Store ?

I have sent a note to support, but nothing happens. sad.gif

Please fix this now, before the promotion runs out.

Thanks

G

I too have a request which is time-sensitive with this promotion that has so far been not responded to by support...

Magneto crashes DP7.21 on launch (MacPro8-core, OS10.5.8) All other Nomad plugs seem to work ok. Any ideas?

It also crashes in Logic 9.1.3.

This is typical of Nomad Factory plugins - you are lucky if all your other NF plugz are working properly!
