Hi
Setting different fft window size affect the sonogram in a predictable way
But, if you lets say do a 10x lengthening of a sound file there should be a significant change in sound quality when you change the fft, window size, that is when doing for example a 64 sample fft window compared to a 2048 fft window
It is a visual thing in IRCAM Lab but there are no changes in sound quality and it should be.....It seems like ther are two fft analyses one for the sonogram ,and a hidden one for the actual sound
What have I missed? There must be a button that I havent seen....?
Hi matsc,
There will be no changes to the sound quality by changing the Sonogram display in TS, only those parameters utilized to strech/transpose etc. The Sonogram simply put gives you a visual display or represenattion of the sound and its component frequencies and noise that make it up, a guide if you will to then enact effect and maniuplate your audio and see the change(s). Details/explanation of the settings adjustments are available in section 2 (page 27) of your help documentation.
Thanks!
