Plugivery Forums _ Plug & Mix _ Echoflex Quirk In Logic Pro X

Posted by: xchrisxtopher Dec 13 2015, 01:47 AM

I'm pretty sure I've posted about this issue before, but I'm revisiting it because the quirk is driving me nuts and causing me to avoid using Echoflex.

The problem: I have Echoflex on two or three different busses delay effects (for example, one for a slapback delay, one for an eighth note delay, one for quarter note). I bounce a song in Logic Pro X. After the bounce is complete, every time I hit play, a rush of delay noise will erupt from one of my delay busses. It's never very specific to which delay will start to act out, but inevitably I'll be forced to remove the Echoflex that can't stop erupting with delay noise every time I hit play, and reinstantiate Echoflex on that bus. Removing and reinstantiating won't fix the issue though, because the next time I bounce the track, it happens all over again.

1- Macbook
2- OS X Yosemite, 10.10.5
3- Logic Pro X, 10.2
4- Internal soundcard or Motu 8pre, doesn't matter
5- No VST wrappers
6- Throw Echoflex on a couple busses in a session with tracks sending to them, set cycle for the duration of the song you want to bounce, and Command–B for the bounce dialog and choose to bounce either Wav or MP3. Hit spacebar after bounce completes to hear the track.

Hi,

My colleague and I have run a session both without issues here, so we'll need more information. Please kindly contact us via our support ticket system - http://support.dontcrack.com/

What we need: -

1. Full system specs - a .spx file would suffice, which incudes everything OS and hardware related. This can be saved from 'About This Mac' > System Report, File > Save. Attach it to the ticket.

2. Session setup - Audio Device, Sample Rate, Bit Depth, Bounce Settings, etc...

3. A stripped back session file with only Echoflex instantiated on the buses, and a loop or some audio file triggering it. It may be another plug-in having conflict with Echoflex so a stripped back session where this is reproducible for you would be appreciated for diagnostics.

4. Steps - step by step of the process to cause the issue.

5. Expected result - what should happen?

6. Actual result - what happens?

7. Any other additional information.

Thanks!
