I've got a bug to report and general clumsy functionality. First the bug. I discovered that the deluxe tilt plugin with cause a loud popping sound in my speakers when I open a pro tools session and then the output meters on my digi 192s will be fully lit up and my session won't play audio. By getting rid of the plugin and reopening the session everything goes back to normal.

Now the clumsy functionality, which applies for all the plugins in the VIP bundle. If I have the plugin window open during playback or record I'll quickly get an error message saying DAE can't get audio from the drive fast enough. This happens with the playback engine set to 128. The problem occasionally happens at 256. System specs below.

Pro Tools HD native thunderbolt
Pro tools 10.3.10.613
Pro tools 11.3.1.370
iMac 3.4 GHz i7
8BG ram
OSX 10.8.5

VIP bundle
AAX 3.3.0

Hi landonarkens,

I would first advise you to update Pro Tools to latest 11.3.2 revision for bug fixes, and flash your HD Native card with firmware update...

There are some known issues with the HD Native card re performance under pre-dated 1.0 firmware respective of lower buffers from personal discussion ith Avid engineers, and thus one would recommend using 256 as the base. Many of my engineering cohorts/friends in the industry have been moving away from the system actually and opting to use MADI, HDX or integrated IZ Technology Radar systems for superior stability.

Regarding the popping with deluxe tilt, do you see/hear this in a stripped session with that plug-in only active, and if so, at what sample rate and buffer size?

Can you open this session with all plug-ins inactive (holing the SHIFT key on launch of the session file itself; double click, or file > open) and then activate plug-ins one by one to route the cause?

Thanks!
