I'm a Cakewalk Sonar Platinum user. I have the Nomad Factory Blue Tube series of plugins which came bundled with Cakewalk Sonar Platinum. The plugin is Blue Tubes Expander Gate GX622 Cakewalk Edition Version 4.

The issue that I've run into, as well as other users on the Cakewalk Sonar forum, is the Threshold control appears to be mirrored. Here's a link to the Cakewalk Sonar forum post:

To help with explaining this issue, I've uploaded a video to youtube. Here's that link:

I ran a 1000hZ Sine Wave at -12dB through the plugin. With the Threshold set to 0dB, you would expect to hear nothing, the gate would remain closed. Well that is not the case, the gate was wide open. Just the opposite was true when the Threshold was set to -70dB, you would think the gate would be wide open, but it was slammed shut. No sound. According to the control knob and value displayed by the plugin, the value at which the gate was opening and closing was around -58dB.

If anyone has any insight into this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Replied in support ticket, not a bug or malfunction but expected behaviour by design.
