Full Version: Problems Installing & Authorizing P&m Bundle

Hi there,

I just purchased the P&M VIP bundle and tried to install it on my Mac Pro running Pro Tools 10 and Logic Pro. I installed AAX and AU versions.

I have two problems and cannot use the bundle now:

1) As soon as I put any P&M plugin on a track in Pro Tools I get a popup window. In this example I tried PM-Analoger:

Plug and Mix

Could not find the PM-Analoger Presets directory.

Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Plug and Mix//PM-Analoger

The PM-Analoger may not be installled properly.

2) When I try to authorize I get this message:

Error!

Cannot launch the Software Activator.

Run the installer again to re-install the Software Activator and try again.

When I run the Software Activator myself (from the installer's disk image) and use my Activation Code to activate the bundle I get this message:

Software Activation Error!

There was an error writing your activation to your hard drive.

Please make sure you are logged in as administrator.

I tried several times to re-install the bundle, from different User Accounts (with administrator rights) in my Mac. I know the passwords, and I am pretty sure I do nothing wrong. I am using a SSD as startup disk. The Volume name is "Macintosh SSD", that should not be a problem I guess?

Any ideas how to solve this? Help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi studiothrills,

Thanks for your interest in DontCrack and Plug&Mix.

I would suggest "repairing permissions" we had some other people who had this and once they "repaired" everything went well.

Another thing that has got people up and running is to manually assigned the "music" user rights to write in the library folder containing P&Ms authorization program.

The Mac OS has been full of "tricks" as the modifications done by Apple lately have not been well documented.

Try this then re-install and it should work, some other people had this little problem.

If it doesn't solve the problem get back to me as soon as you can.

Best Regards,

Nick

Thanks very much,

I tried repairing permissions using Disk Utility. That did not help.

But when I manually changed permissions of the "Plug and Mix" Folder (inside the "Application Support Folder" inside the Macintosh SSD's Library Folder).

That helped! Now it all works; presets as well as authorization.

Thanks again,

Hello Rens,

Glad to hear you are up and running now.

Wow, you had to manually change the permissions on the "Plug and Mix" Folder, interesting that the "Disk Utility" didn't.

It is supposed to see where there are problems or inconsistencies are, and correct them all.

Thanks for finding this, I'll put to use for others where the permissions are still causing problems.

A good find.

Thanks.

Same problem here - only it was on just 1 of my 2 computers where I installed.

The Mac Pro installed smoothly. The iMac had the permissions problem, I had to go in and manually change the permissions on the Plug and Mix folder in Library > APplication Support.

I think I know why. The Mac Pro, I installed on the main admin account. The iMac, it is on a "secondary" account - it has admin rights, but it is not the "default" admin account on the computer.

Hello jpiscitello,

Haven't heard of this one, a "secondary" account.

Could you point out the file/chain/where/the/file/lives, so I can use it to help others.

Do you have an idea how this "secondary" account came into being? Did you create it? Did it create itself?

Any info is always a big help.

Thanks Rens.

I had the same problem.
Manually changing the permissions of the PnM folder fixed it.
(changed to Admin (me)=Read and Write)(It was set to Maintenance=R&W)
