Can't Tune Low E String On Bass Options

Recent versions of The Snail don't seem to be able to focus on low notes like the low E string on a bass. Older versions (eg 1.3.2) can allow me to tune my bass.

Products with the problem: The Snail 1.4+ standalone and VST3 plugin.

When I set The Snail to tuning mode and Zoomed Tuner view and then play a low E open string, the "blob" appears briefly and then fades too fast to allow tuning. It might come back into view for a short time. The spinning hexagon never slows or changes colour.

This problem happens in every case using 1.4 or higher. This problem does not occur using version 1.3.2.
