				It really depends on several things, including your budget. Its easy to suggest that Pro Tools is the way to go as its the most used DAW software, but it might not be what YOU need. For instance, if you are on a budget and/or don't know much about the inner workings of a PC, then Cubase, Reaper or Sonar might be a better option as these are less "finicky" about the hardware(computer and interface). On a really tight budget? Reaper is a bargain and is very capable. any DAW will allow you to do some home recording, and the quality will be down to you, your skills, and talent. But if you need to be able to take your sessions to another studio, or bring sessions FROM another studio, then you should probably use whatever they use.
